UPANG matutukan ng mga guro ang kanilang mga estudyante, kailangang bawasan ang kanilang  work load.

Isa ito sa mga suhestiyon sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso kasunod ng Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) report kung saan nangulelat ang mga estudyanteng Pinoy sa reading comprehension at ikalawa sa kulelat sa Science at Matematika.

Ayon kay Kabayan party-list Rep. Ron Salo, marami o halos lahat ng guro sa public school ay binibigyan ng clerical works kaya imbes na magturo ay nauubos ang oras nito sa ibang bagay kaya dapat alisin umano sa kanila ang trabahong ito.

“When teachers are unloaded of their add-on administrative work such as property custodianship and recorders of financial transactions, they can focus on their real work in the classroom,”ani Salo.

Samantala, umapela naman si Quezon City Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo na huwag nang magsisihan sa  pagbasak ng mga estudyanteng Pinoy sa assessment ng PISA.

“Let’s not engage in finger-pointing. Instead, let’s work together in dealing with a problem that we could not ignore,” ani Castelo na nagpatawag ng imbestigasyon umano malaman kung saan nagkulang ang gobyerno.

“Whatever remedy we can harvest from the probe should be worked upon immediately,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.

Sa panig naman ni ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo, dapat seryosohin na ang pagkuha ng mas maraming guro upang mabawasan ang mga estudyante sa isang klase na isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit mahirap turuan ang mga ito.

“Department of Education  must hire more teachers with special training on students with reading challenges. I believe there is no other way to go about this massive reading problem in our public elementary schools,” ani Tulfo.
